A wide range of Social Events and formal and informal activities will be available to those registering for the Accompanying Person’s program.

A visitor’s lounge area and meeting point will be open throughout the Symposium for pass holders. Advice and information will be available to help you plan your excursions to local places of interest. Opportunities will also be provided to join others  to explore nearby Stanley Park and Granville Island on foot or by bicycle.

Guided historical walking tours of downtown Vancouver have been arranged for Friday. The tours are approximately 2 hrs duration leaving from the Westin. Return on your own by foot or use the provided transit ticket. Participation is complimentary for Accompanying Persons based on availability. Sign up on site in the Accompanying Persons louge. 

Accompanying Persons are welcome to enjoy music and conversation at the Icebreaker Reception on Wednesday evening (2 drink tickets included in the Registration package) and socializing at Thursday evening’s Networking Event, as well as Friday evening’s Gala Dinner (ticket purchase required) and music and dancing at the Afterparty, which is free for all Conference pass holders.

Post-Conference Tour opportunities include a Saturday evening dinner cruise around Vancouver Harbour, a Sunday tour of Fraser River bridges, including lunch, on a paddle-wheel steamer and a two day tour on Sunday and Monday to the resort of Whistler  and the spectacular Coast Range Mountains. Tours can be selected on the registration form.
